Traveling From Puerto Vallarta Airport to Sayulita
It's considerably simpler than you may think to get to Sayulita from the airport in Puerto Vallarta. There are a variety of transportation options available, including hotel shuttles, private drivers, rentals, Uber, and public buses.
I'll go over all your options for getting from the airport in Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita, and you can pick the one that best suits your needs in terms of comfort and price.
UBER
Since Uber is a new service in Puerto Vallarta, drivers are not legally permitted to pick up customers at the airport. Some still do, but the majority are terrified of the cops. Most drivers want you to exit the airport and pick you up across the bridge from the airport as I did in the video above.
BUS
There isn't a direct bus that departs from the airport and arrives in Sayulita. However, there is a bus stop outside the airport, across the street, as shown in the video above. This could be your only choice if you're going to Mexico on a tight budget. A few quick observations on the Sayulita bus:
NO AC
LOTS OF STOPS ON THE WAY
PESOS ONLY
Simply wait for the next bus, which leaves every 15 minutes. buses that are white and green and have a window sign for Sayulita
PRIVATE DRIVER
The simplest and quickest method to travel to Sayulita is via private driver. You'll see a swarm of private drivers as soon as you exit the immigration doors.
Making a reservation in advance is gonna be your best option to save money. At the airport, all drivers (private, taxis, and shuttles) will be more costly, and you'll probably need to bargain over a reasonable fee. Remember that bargaining is a way of life in Mexico, so don't be shy about doing it.
